A well-established national law firm is seeking an experienced Professional Liability Attorney to join its growing healthcare litigation practice in Philadelphia.
This position offers the opportunity to represent physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems, nursing homes, and other healthcare professionals in sophisticated medical malpractice and professional liability matters. The ideal candidate is an experienced litigator who enjoys handling complex cases from inception through resolution and is comfortable managing an active caseload independently.
Responsibilities:
  • Defend healthcare providers and medical professionals in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation
  • Independently manage a diverse litigation caseload
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal filings
  • Conduct all aspects of written discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
  • Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings
  • Perform legal and medical research
  • Provide strategic legal advice and litigation recommendations to clients

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar admission
  • 8+ years of litigation experience
  • Medical malpractice defense or professional liability experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical abilities
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters with minimal supervision
  • Experience handling cases through trial preparation preferred
