Healthcare Systems Technician


Nashville, TN Area | $23-$28/hr | Company Vehicle | Full Benefits


We are partnering with a growing provider of healthcare communications and life safety technology to hire a Healthcare Systems Technician. This role is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical communication systems used in hospitals and healthcare facilities.

The ideal candidate has experience with low-voltage systems, telecommunications, electronics, nurse call systems, or related technologies and enjoys solving technical problems in the field.


What You'll Do

  • Install, program, test, and commission electronic communication systems
  • Perform final equipment hookups and system programming for new installations
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic components and communication systems
  • Respond to customer service requests and diagnose system issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
  • Document system readings, service work, and installation activities
  • Maintain accurate service tickets, inventory records, and project documentation
  • Train customers and end users on proper system operation
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, riser diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Utilize diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, volt meters, ohm meters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing tools
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support customer needs
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety requirements


What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in field service, low-voltage systems, electronics, telecommunications, healthcare technology, or a related technical field
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or communication systems
  • Working knowledge of communications technologies and system integrations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently in customer environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record


Preferred Experience


Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Nurse Call Systems
  • VoIP and SIP Technologies
  • Telephony Systems
  • Data Networks
  • Wireless Communications
  • CCTV Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Sound and Paging Systems
  • Healthcare Technology Systems


Additional certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, NICET, NSCA CEST, RCDD, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent military or technical training will be considered


Travel

  • Local travel throughout the Middle Tennessee region
  • Most travel within approximately 90 minutes of Nashville
  • Limited overnight travel as needed
