Project: Federal Correctional Officer Retention Analysis

Position Summary
BGMG is seeking a Project Manager to support a federal research project focused on correctional officer workforce retention and attrition.
**This role is pending subject to contract award**
The Project Manager will lead project coordination, schedule management, client communication, risk tracking, and delivery of research products. The role requires prior experience managing social science research projects with overlapping tasks and deadlines.
The Project Manager is designated as key personnel and is expected to remain available throughout the 12-month period of performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a fast-paced quantitative social science research project.
  • Coordinate the work of researchers and quantitative analysts.
  • Lead project planning, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support and participate in the project kickoff meeting.
  • Maintain the project work plan and detailed project timeline.
  • Prepare or oversee biweekly progress reports.
  • Prepare agendas and meeting notes for monthly client meetings.
  • Track project risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
  • Coordinate work across interconnected research tasks with overlapping timelines.
  • Maintain communication with government stakeholders.
  • Monitor deliverable quality and submission deadlines.
  • Support preparation of research reports, presentations, and other project products.
  • Work with the Lead Analyst to ensure research activities remain aligned with project objectives.

The Government will assess project management based in part on timely deliverables, task coordination, responsiveness, and continuity of key personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience paths:
  • Master's degree in a field related to social science or statistics from an accredited institution; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus an additional three years of related experience above the minimum experience requirement.

Candidates must also have:
  • At least 5 years of professional experience managing fast-paced research projects.
  • Experience managing social science research.
  • Experience coordinating projects with multiple or overlapping tasks.
  • Experience establishing clear communication and tracking project risks.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Federal, state, local government, nonprofit, or private-sector research experience is relevant to the Government's evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing federally funded research or evaluation projects.
  • Experience with workforce, labor, human resources, or employee retention research.
  • Experience working with quantitative researchers or statisticians.
  • Experience translating research activities and findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing federal contract deliverables.
