Program: Children’s Residential Program
Schedule: Overnight | 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM

The Residential Shift Coordinator (Overnight) is responsible for overseeing the safe, structured, and effective operation of the children’s residential program during overnight hours. This role provides on-shift leadership, ensures continuity of care, and supports direct care staff to maintain program standards, regulatory compliance, and resident safety. The Shift Coordinator serves as the primary point of accountability for the shift and ensures all required documentation, medication administration, and morning transitions are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Oversight & Leadership

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the overnight shift.

  • Provide direction, support, and supervision to residential staff during the shift.

  • Assign staff duties and adjust coverage as needed to meet program and safety requirements.

  • Serve as the on-shift decision-maker and respond to incidents, emergencies, or staffing issues.

Resident Care & Safety

  • Ensure resident safety, supervision, and adherence to individualized behavior support plans.

  • Monitor overnight routines, sleep schedules, and morning readiness.

  • Support de-escalation and behavioral interventions in accordance with program protocols.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all behavior data is completed accurately and submitted according to program standards.

  • Verify completion of required shift documentation, logs, and reports.

  • Ensure medication administration is completed correctly and documented in compliance with MAP and agency policies.

Medication Administration

  • Oversee and/or administer medications in accordance with MAP guidelines.

  • Ensure medication counts, documentation, and storage procedures are followed.

Morning Transitions & Transportation

  • Coordinate and ensure timely transportation of residents to school in the morning.

  • Confirm staff assignments for morning routines and transportation coverage.

  • Communicate relevant shift information to incoming staff and supervisors.

Communication

  • Provide clear shift handoffs and report any incidents, concerns, or follow-up needs.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clinical staff, and other departments as needed.

Pay Range: $22.50-$28.12/hr

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess or be enrolled in a course of study culminating in an undergraduate or higher degree in human services; in certain instances, experience and other qualifications may be sufficient. Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalency.
