Job description

Salary: $20.00-$22.00/hour

Evolutions Detox is looking to hire Overnight Resident Aids for its detox and residential treatment program in Northridge, CA. This position is also known as: Client Advisor, Residential Advisor, Behavioral Health Technician, Detox Technician, Client Advocate, etc.


Minimum Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma
  • Up to 1 yr experience in behavioral healthcare setting
  • Past experience working as a part of a team
  • Familiarity with alcohol/drug treatment services and placement criteria required
  • Maintains current CPR and First Aid Training
  • Cleared TB Test
  • Valid unrestricted state driver's license
  • Maintain and pass annual background check and TB screening, as well as random drug screening
  • Registration with RAD-T or peer support specialist

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review pre-screening and complete any and or all documentation
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to client admitting into the program
  • Conducts vitals, BAC, urinalysis (UA) drug screen collection following all appropriate procedures
  • Conducts 72 hours detox observations, vitals, CIWAS, and COWS per protocol
  • Monitor and documents client behavior during detox and/or hourly observation requirements utilizing Mental Status Exam and implementing in shift logs and observation logs
  • Facilitates daily activities in a residential component: waking up clients, chore supervision, assist with meal service, makes coffee on the daily basis, assists with laundry
  • Transports clients on an as needed basis (I.E., airport, doctors office, store runs, etc.)
  • Conducts regular house checks, room checks, facility grounds/perimeter checks to ensure safety and security
  • Observes and monitors client behavior and intervenes based on schedule, individual client treatment plan and house needs
  • Provides one-on-one supervision for clients on detox level of care, suicide watch, and ACA needs
  • Will assist with Resident Aid 2 in completing Discharge Process
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
