Job description

Overview

Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading (MSET) Night Coverage team. This role provides overnight trading coverage and operates on a Sunday through Friday schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. ET.

The individual will be responsible for execution oversight and monitoring, risk management, performance analysis, and real-time decision-making to help deliver high-quality client outcomes while maintaining a strong risk and control environment. MSET is Morgan Stanley's electronic trading business, providing clients with access to global markets, electronic execution, and trading technology solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry-leading electronic trading business and work alongside a talented team of professionals across Trading, Sales, Technology, Quantitative Research, and Product Management. The role provides significant exposure to U.S. equities, futures, options, market structure, electronic execution, and risk management, creating strong opportunities for professional development and career growth within one of the firm's most innovative and strategically important businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee the execution of client orders across U.S. equities, futures, and options while actively managing trading, market, and operational risk.

  • Continuous monitoring of market conditions, liquidity, and platform performance, as well as exercising judgment when issues arise that require escalation or intervention.

  • Analyze execution quality and trading performance, identify opportunities for process improvement, and provide clear handoff summaries to the day trading team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience on an execution desk, electronic trading desk, sales trading desk, or in a related role.

  • Ability and willingness to work overnight trading coverage aligned with Asia market hours rather than a traditional U.S. workday.

  • Schedule: Sunday through Friday, 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. ET.

  • Strong understanding of electronic trading and market structure, along with familiarity with futures and options markets.

  • Analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, strong risk awareness, sound judgment, and a demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong trading judgment combined with a solid analytical foundation.

  • Comfortable working independently with a strong work ethic; disciplined, self-motivated, and capable of maintaining focus and sound judgment throughout the trading session.
