Job description

Experienced A&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization to perform maintenance, inspections, major alterations, and return-to-service functions for a mixed fleet of piston and turbine aircraft. Strong troubleshooting, FAA compliance, and customer service skills required.
Key responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections (annual, 100-hour), major repairs and alterations per 14 CFR Part 43/91 and company manuals.
  • Hold and exercise IA privileges: inspect and sign off major repairs/alterations and annual inspections; complete FAA Form 337 and logbook entries as required.
  • Perform engine/propeller removal/installation, avionics installs, structural repairs, sheetmetal and composite work as required by job.
  • Troubleshoot avionics, electrical, fuel systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; perform functional checks and test flights when required.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation: work orders, logbook entries, Form 337, maintenance tracking and airworthiness releases.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and MEL/POH limitations.
  • Mentor junior mechanics and maintain a clean, safe shop environment.
  • Liaise with customers and provide accurate cost/time estimates and status updates.
Requirements:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate with Inspection Authorization (IA) — required.
  • Minimum 3 years of active line/shop experience; experience with both piston and turbine aircraft preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience signing for annual inspections and major alterations; familiarity with FAA Form 337.
  • Avionics experience (Garmin, Aspen, ADS-B, WAAS GPS, glass cockpit) .
  • Strong understanding of 14 CFR Part 43/65/91, AD research and compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license; passport preferred for ferry/transport duties.
  • Ability to lift aircraft components, work in confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffolds; willingness to travel/overnight for ferry/check flights as needed.
  • Professional, customer-facing communication skills.
Preferred:

  • Repair Station experience or prior experience as Lead Mechanic.
  • IA renewal/continuing education records current.
  • Inspection Authorization with recent activity (signoffs within last 24 months).
