Ball-Chatham School District is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as aRegistered Nurse (RN) at Glenwood High School. If you are dedicated to promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for students and staff, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a rewarding school community.

This position is based at Glenwood High Schooland will also serve as a district-wide floating nurse,providing coverage across all District buildings during nurse absencesand assisting with required hearing and vision screenings throughout the school year.

Starting Rate: $32.00-45.27 per hour commensurate with experience

WHAT DO SCHOOL NURSES DO?

  • Serve as a health education resource person to students, staff, and families

  • Provide first aid care and administer necessary immunizations

  • Maintains an accurate health record for each student including immunizations, physical exam information and data regarding medical problems

  • Accurately order, maintain, and inventory medical supplies and maintain supply budget wisely and efficiently

  • Provide nursing coverage at other District buildings as needed during staff absences and support District-wide hearing and vision screening processes

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of IL

  • Ability to travel between District buildings and work flexibly to support operational health service needs throughout the District

  • Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal and DCFS background check.

  • Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments, especially as it relates to children and adolescents

  • Considerable knowledge of child growth and development

  • Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
