This position is located in the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) - Watershed Protection Branch. The successful candidate will be an inspector in the Drinking Water Inspection Team of the Watershed Compliance Program. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform comprehensive inspections and sanitary surveys on complex water treatment plants with surface water sources, to ensure their operation in compliance with the Federal and State Regulations. The inspector documents inspections in electronic databases and in written reports. The inspector responds to drinking water-related emergencies and provides assistance to the emergency support function for the water sector as needed. Treatment facilities can be large, and inspections can be moderately strenuous, some taking several days, requiring extensive walking, climbing over and under operating equipment and climbing ladders.
