Job description

FACILITIES TECHNICIAN (EVENING SHIFT, 2:00 P.M. TO 10:00 P.M.)

Company: Pegasus Development

Location: Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY (on site, five days per week)

Employment type: Full time, hourly (non-exempt)

Standard: Detail-first and exacting; the building notices everything

Shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; a standing schedule, not a rotation

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Pay range: $40.87 to $46.88 per hour ($85,000 to $97,500 annualized at 2,080 hours)

Target start: On or before October 16, 2026

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pegasus Development is hiring a Facilities Technician for a standing 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. evening shift at a private investment holding company in the Plaza District. This is the second half of the craft day, equal in standing to the Day Technician and reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, built for the work that should never happen in front of people.

You carry the response standard through 10:00 p.m., stand present for evening events on the space-condition side, and direct the programs that run while the floors are empty: floor and finish care cycles and the pest control program's discreet scheduling. You brief the evening cleaning crew on arrival every night and hand the building's final touch-up state to the overnight.

THE STANDARD

The standard here is set by the people who own the floors, and their reference points are the best hotels and private residences in the world. Nothing is judged against good enough for an office. A defect is anything a principal would notice the next morning, reported or not: an event space returned to presentable rather than exactly as found, a finish care cycle that stopped short of the room's edge, a glass mark left on a table after the guests are gone. This seat exists to leave nothing for the 6:30 a.m. walk to find, and to prove it on the platform before close.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Take the 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. handoff from the Day Technician: open items, the day's incident log, the evening's commitments

• Carry the response standard through the back half of the business day without a gap

• Stage floor and finish care as spaces clear; verify the carpet program executed under the building's janitorial contract

• Schedule pest control in the discreet windows

• Stand by on event nights on the space-condition side; otherwise run the off-hours program work

• Brief the evening cleaning crew on arrival every night

• Make the final pass at 10:00 p.m.; log and close the evening's state on the platform

• Cycle weekend and holiday coverage with the Day Technician against confirmed need, confirmed by the Director

WHAT YOU BRING

• An exacting, uncompromising attention to detail: event spaces reset to the standard without exception, finish care completed to the edge of the room, the evening's state logged completely before close

• Five or more years in skilled facilities craft: finish repair, paint touch-up and color matching, hardware, and lamping, in environments where the finish level is the product

• Hotel engineering backgrounds fit this seat's rhythm naturally

• Comfort working independently and the judgment to run a quiet building alone

• The presence to stand behind a live event without being seen in it

• Comfort with work order platforms and photo documentation

• An afternoon-to-close schedule as the job, not a rotation

THIS SEAT IS NOT FOR YOU IF

• You need to be seen working. This seat succeeds when no one knows the work happened.

• You reset an event space to presentable. The standard is exactly as found, or better.

• You end the shift with open items unlogged.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

• The event-night response standard held whenever a body is required

• Finish care and pest programs current against schedule rather than complaint

• The evening crew's briefing delivered every night on shift

• Zero findings on the 6:30 a.m. walk from the evening's work

• Zero repeat defects: a defect fixed once is fixed

HOW WE HIRE FOR THIS

The interview includes a floor walk. You will be asked what you see, and the answer decides whether the conversation continues. Finalists complete a short practical exercise: one defect log entry with the photograph, and a reset of a space we disturb, checked against how we left it.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Hourly pay $40.87 to $46.88, which annualizes to $85,000 to $97,500 at 2,080 hours; a good-faith range at the time of posting, and the offer depends on experience. Overtime at time and a half beyond 40 hours in a week, per New York law. Comprehensive benefits. Employer of record is Pegasus Development LLC.
