Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Communications Specialist

Location: West Mifflin, PA 15122 (100% On-site in West Mifflin)

Schedule: Daylight & Evening Shifts (8 or 10-hour shifts), Overnight Shifts (10-hour shifts); 24/7 Operations with Rotating Weekends & Holidays. Due to the continuous 24/7/365 staff requirements, candidates must be flexible and variable for any shift.

New Hire Starting Base Pay: $20.20 – $23.15 per hour (Starting pay based on experience, with clear advancement pathways as you build specialized expertise.)

Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $32.01 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Transport Coordination & Dispatch: Process medically necessary and non-medically necessary patient transportation requests efficiently in accordance with established policies.
  • Emergency & Medical Command Routing: Receive emergency calls, document medical command reports, notify emergency departments, and facilitate paramedic-to-physician communications.
  • Hospital Security & Monitoring: Monitor hospital alarm systems, process hospital condition codes, and issue notification pages per protocol.
  • Off-Hours Operator Services: Perform hospital operator duties and handle security/addressing requests during overnight shifts.
  • Customer Service & Documentation: Manage incoming phone communications with high accuracy, exceptional customer service, and precise data entry.
What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Current or prior EMS or healthcare experience required; call center experience preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with CAD software required; (Zoll RightCad experience a plus!).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of EMS dispatch workflows, emergency response procedures, and medical command protocols.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent multitasking abilities, clear communication skills, composure during urgent situations, and strong attention to detail.
  • Licensure & Certifications: Current or prior EMT or Paramedic certification strongly preferred.
