Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience.

Details
  • Level 1 Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, teaching hospital, Magnet designated, and comprehensive stroke center with 397 beds
  • Cardiac Cath Lab unit with 3 cath labs performing procedure, cath, and EP cases
  • Case types include diagnostic/interventional cardiac catheterization, LHC/RCH, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders
  • EP cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
  • Average daily caseload of 5-15 cases
  • 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1730
  • No floating required
  • On-call required, including weekend call rotation (2 shifts per 4-week schedule) and 4-5 additional weekday overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule
  • 30-minute response time required for call with no sleep room available
  • EMR: EPIC; IV Pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; Hemodynamics: Phillips; PACS: Merge; Unit equipment: Phillips c-arm
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Minimum 12 months of core specialty experience with most recent experience within the last year
  • Experience with moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl and critical drip management required
  • Experience monitoring and circulating cases required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required
  • Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include monitoring and circulating Cath Lab and EP cases, moderate sedation administration, and critical drip management
  • Department support includes a Charge RN who participates in cases, receptionist, hospitalist/physician availability after hours, respiratory therapy, and management/supervisory staff
  • Orientation includes NEO and 1 day on the unit
  • Possible on-call coverage required for holidays
  • RTO approval granted for up to 7 days
  • Scrubs provided
  • Schedule is self-scheduled in 6-week increments with final manager approval
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
  • Former Advocate Health employees or subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
