Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy
Location: Mission Hills, CA 
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (5x8; M-F with no weekends, holidays, or on-call)
Pay Rate: $64/hr (W2) | $68/hr (1099)

Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endoscopy RN to join our outpatient GI/endoscopy team. This is a Monday–Friday, daytime role with no weekends, holidays, or on-call, providing excellent work–life balance. The RN will collaborate with gastroenterologists and endoscopy technicians to provide high-quality care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
This role is ideal for a nurse with at least one year of GI lab or endoscopy experience who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation per protocol, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Circulate during procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, polypectomy, biopsy, PEG placement, banding, balloon dilation, Bravo pH monitoring, and X-track.
  • Recover patients post-sedation, monitoring vital signs and patient status.
  • Accurately handle, label, and document all specimens.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding appropriately to dysrhythmias.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality control standards.
  • Document all care in the Epic electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications
  • Current California RN license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA-approved).
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience in an endoscopy center or GI lab.
  • Proficiency in administering and monitoring conscious sedation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic EHR experience.
  • Experience with Bravo pH monitoring.

Work Environment
  • Type: Outpatient Endoscopy Center.
  • Daily Procedures: 40–45 (ASA I, II, and III patients).
  • Team: 3 gastroenterologists, multiple endoscopy techs, RN support.
  • Rooms: 3 procedure rooms, 12 recovery beds.
  • Support Services: Interpretation services, patient transportation.
  • Parking: Facility-paid.
  • Scrubs: Solid color (TBD by facility).
