About This Position
The position involves activities with operating and supporting the operation of the packaging equipment. The position is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and working safely while producing the products produced as well as being in compliance with GMP's, OSHA, FDA and HACCP guidelines. The position would be required to give feedback to management throughout the day in relation to production goals and quality issues.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Know and understand the operation of the packaging equipment per training and SOP's to effectively and efficiently operate the packaging equipment.
  • Maintain daily production rates and machine settings as required.
  • Meet daily quality and production goals as required.
  • Ensure proper code dating is followed on packages and finished cases. Consistently monitor all packages for compliance within the required guidelines. Report any improper coded product to your manager immediately.
  • Act in a professional manner with support of all Company rules and policies.
  • Monitor scope of work and record all required data in Oracle system.
  • Accurately record and monitor daily production records for completion of finished products in Oracle.
  • Know safety procedures for each of the production lines to avoid any injuries by yourself or others.
  • Work effectively with team members to keep equipment running to meet production and quality goals.
  • Handle the packaging lines paperwork or Oracle transactions as needed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor quality of products being produced and report any issues to management.
  • Follow all company's stated safety procedures and Do's & Don'ts policies.
  • Keep machines in safe running condition and communicate with team members to work safely.
  • Follow and enforce all OSHA, GMP's, SOP's, SSOP's & FDA rules and regulations.
  • Monitor stock and communicate product needs to warehouse department.
  • Report any manufacturing, quality, or personnel problems to management.
  • Always maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Train employees as directed in operation of packaging equipment and packaging of products.
  • Assist in sanitation of equipment, production rooms and facility as required by SSOP's.
  • Sanitation responsibilities could require work in non-climate-controlled environment for periods of time. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures and must be able to perform assigned task responsibilities safely and effectively under these conditions.
  • Sanitation responsibilities could require employees to work in a wet environment for periods of time. Employees must wear proper PPE and perform responsibilities as assigned in wet environment.
  • Employees may be required to use a six-foot ladder to safely perform assigned job duties. Employees must follow all ladder safety procedures. Use the ladder as intended and ensure its position on a stable level surface before use.
  • Responsible for reporting to work on time, reporting to and returning from breaks on time and effectively using the electronic UltiPro timecard system.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance records in accordance with TKC standards.
  • Assist in taking inventories as scheduled.
  • Report any food quality and food safety issues immediately to QA Manager and Director of Packaging.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities or duties as assigned by Production Manager or other members of management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as simple addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Minimum of 3 months related work experience.
