JOURNEYS | The Road Home in Palatine, IL is hiring part-time Overnight Shelter Monitors who are ready to jump in, make a real difference, and have a little fun along the way! We're a non-profit agency serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, and we're looking for two caring and attentive people to oversee the nightly activities at the shelter.Here's what we're offering this entry-level position:Pay: $17.50/hourPart-Time Perks: 401(k) plan and paid time off (PTO)Nightly Schedule: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, generally working 24 - 32 hours per week, including at least one weekend day (schedules can vary depending on agency needs, and occasional evening/weekend hours may be required for attending meetings and events)If you're looking for an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the community, keep reading to learn more!YOUR ROLE AS OUR OVERNIGHT SHELTER MONITORYou'll be responsible for accurately documenting the night's activities, recording all incidents, and noting general observations you have. This position helps keep the shelter running smoothly overnight by promptly responding to any emergencies and professionally assisting any clients, visitors, or volunteers who contact us with questions or concerns. We'll train you on our company policies and emergency protocols, and you'll make sure to follow all regulations. What's most important is that you're compassionate, focused, and ready to act when needed.
