Job description

SUMMARY 

Provides nursing assessment, intervention and evaluation for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries.  Manages on-going care of team members.  Conducts required screen/testing.  Provides preventative care and resource support for medical related needs. Review and determine eligibility for various leaves of absence. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associate degree (R.N.) in Nursing or equivalent from two-year college; or bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university; with a minimum of three years nursing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to team members, managers, and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as medication dosage. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS 

Outlook, Word, Excel, People Soft, Fusion, Thrive.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Current Registered Nurse licensure in State where employed and CAOHC certification (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation).

The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually moderate, loud when in the factory.

HOURS FLEXIBILITY 

The position requires some flexibility related to hours of work. May be occasionally asked to work additional hours or different hours to support business needs. 

TRAVEL 

Travel, including overnight travel, may be required 25-30% of time based on sites supported and business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain nursing certifications and license.
  • Manages direct care of work related and non-work related injured or ill team members.
  • Provides case management of Workers' Compensation claims.  Provide support for Workers' Compensation hearings as needed.
  • Administers the Family Medical Leave program and all related processes (FMLA).
  • Is a resource for Short Term Disability (STD) and assists the third-party vendor with STD related processes.
  • Conducts hearing tests and manages follow-up care.
  • Administers vaccination programs to include Tetanus and Hepatitis.
  • Facilitates physician job site visits and Functional Capacity Examinations.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate charting of all care provided, into team member health record/file.
  • Provide resource assistance to HR representatives in assessing reasonable accommodations.
  • Conduct job assessments within manufacturing and office environments. Provide risk analysis and offer risk reduction solutions.
  • Responsible for OSHA compliance and recordkeeping within scope of responsibility.                        
  • Maintains Health and Safety Information systems.  Input health information and treatment plans into appropriate HSI Systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
