Job description

Job Summary: Provide compassionate and professional neurodiagnostic testing services to patients and healthcare providers by accurately performing EEG and EP tests. Deliver timely and courteous communication of test results to ordering practitioners, ensuring high standards of care.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interpretable EEGs and evoked potentials on diverse patient populations, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, both inpatient and outpatient.
  • Apply clinical judgment and specialized skills to accommodate patients with varying disabilities and medical conditions.
  • Maintain neurodiagnostic equipment and laboratory safety, ensuring quality control standards are met consistently.
  • Coordinate patient transportation to and from the lab or perform portable EEG recordings when necessary.
  • Execute specialized recordings such as electrocerebral silence tests following established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to foster collaborative care.
  • Manage scheduling in coordination with department supervisors to accommodate fluctuating testing demands.
  • Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of neurological disorders affecting test results.
  • Accurately enter billing charges into the hospital's computer system.
  • Assist management with quality control and maintenance programs to ensure reliable test outcomes and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Participate in educational in-services as required by department leadership.
Education and Experience:
  • Must be a Registered EEG Technologist or meet ABRET requirements to obtain Registered EEG Credential.
  • Enrollment in an accredited EEG program is acceptable; new graduates have one year to achieve certification.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • ABRET Board Certification is mandatory.

Work Shift: Fourth shift (overnight).
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
