Security Systems Programmer (Data Centers) - Phoenix, AZ

Overview

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven Engineering Specialist to join our culture. You will service and support existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and small projects. You will be part of a dynamic team that supports growth for both you and the company.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts to determine and advise on technical project requirements; manage project aspects including estimating, designing, tracking, startup and planning phases; material and equipment procurement.
  • Provide input, reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring.
  • Provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
What You’ll Need
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customer needs without prompting.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Strong technical and computer-based skills, proven troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., use of hand and power tools).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites regularly; minimal overnight travel may be required.
Education & Experience

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years technical, IT, or low-voltage systems project

Preferred Experience (not required): College degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or low-voltage systems design coursework
