Job description

Accurate Courier Services Job Opportunity

If you do your best work when the city's asleep, you're reliable without needing to be managed, and you're ready for something steadier than random gig deliveries, keep reading.

Accurate Courier Services contracts with independent couriers to support healthcare clients across the Kansas City metro. Hospitals, labs, pharmacies, and medical offices that need precise, on-time service every night. Our contractors aren't chasing whatever pings on an app. They're running structured overnight agreements for clients who count on them.

For 20+ years, ACS has been the courier healthcare clients across the Midwest trust with what can't be late: pharmaceuticals, specimens, and time-sensitive medical items, moved safely and on time.

The agreements available are hybrid, alternating between nights on a set route and nights covering on-demand for the metro.

Monday through Thursday starting settlement value: approximately $44,200 annually.

Friday through Sunday starting settlement value: approximately $36,920 annually.

Starting rates, not ceilings. Those numbers are the floor, not the target. Contractors on these agreements get first look at additional work regularly, day or night. We pay above our standard rate here on purpose. We're looking for people who want to fill their week, not people counting down to the last stop. If you're hungry, this is where the volume lives.

Route nights are a defined set of stops with known timing. On-demand nights run 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM and carry a guarantee, so the night is covered regardless of volume. Volume is usually light. You're the first line of defense when a route goes sideways and something needs recovered, or a client calls something in after hours. Some of those runs go well outside the metro so loving to drive is a must.

This is a contract opportunity, not employment. Independent contractors operate their own businesses and are responsible for their own taxes, expenses, and insurance. Compensation is per contracted services completed. No employment benefits are provided.

Contracted services include transporting pharmaceuticals, medical instruments, supplies, documents, and medical specimens, including temperature-sensitive materials requiring insulated transport. Pickups and deliveries are logged through a secure mobile app to support chain-of-custody requirements.

These agreements run through holidays and in all weather. Expect driving, walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Branded identification for access at client facilities

Insulated coolers and specialty transport containers

Delivery equipment required by healthcare clients

Access to certifications required for contracted services

SUV or larger. Cargo space is required for these agreements.

Smartphone

Current driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance

Responsibility for fuel, vehicle maintenance, and business expenses

Full HIPAA and confidentiality compliance

Contractors complete services within agreed windows, communicate any delays or incidents through the designated channel, and maintain professionalism in healthcare settings. All services must be performed free from impairment and in compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Age 21 or older with at least 3 years of personal vehicle driving experience

Familiarity with Kansas City roadways and traffic patterns

Willingness to accept long-distance on-demand orders outside the metro when needed

Clean Motor Vehicle Record

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by healthcare clients

Medical, lab, or courier experience is a plus, not a requirement

Engaging with Accurate Courier Services as an independent contractor does not create an employment relationship. Submitting an application or completing screening steps does not guarantee a contract or future work.
