Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our per diem night Behavioral Health Registered Nurse RN in our new Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), you will help patients and their families feel comfortable and well-informed during critical healthcare decisions so they can navigate mental health crises with confidence and receive the best possible care.

Every day you will build trust through empathetic interactions, advocating for, supporting, and educating your patients and their families within a safe and confidential environment. You will be expected to deliver comprehensive care, including behavioral and psychiatric assessments, medication management, and individualized, recovery-oriented interventions to resolve mental health crises.

To be successful in this role you must possess deep empathy and patience, providing hands-on nursing expertise to identify unspoken needs.

  • Provide comprehensive behavioral and psychiatric assessments.
  • Manage patient medication and deliver individualized interventions.
  • Advocate for and educate patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department for patient transfers and integrated care.
  • Build trust through empathetic and supportive interactions.
  • Champion whole-person care and reduce the stigma of mental illness.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Two (2) years Acute Mental Health experience as an RN
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

Required

  • Two (2) years Acute Mental Health experience as an RN
