Job description

Description
The Department of Neuroscience at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of in vivo electrophysiology and optogenetic manipulation in freely behaving mice, as well as in Deeplabcut and MATLAB/Python-based data analysis. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities may include working independently and as part of collaborative research groups studying the neuronal basis of interbrain synchrony during the social interaction of freely behaving mice using behavioral, neurophysiological, and computational techniques.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop independence in research through writing grants and peer-reviewed publications.
