Position: Information Systems Analyst IV – NAS Engineer 

Location: Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – Up to 3 Days Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months
Client: Southern Company Services
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Candidates must currently reside in the Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA area and be able to commute to the office up to three days per week.

Job Summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an experienced Information Systems Analyst IV – NAS Engineer to design, support, and optimize enterprise Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions. This role focuses on Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon) administration in complex Microsoft and Linux environments, supporting mission-critical storage platforms, disaster recovery, file services, and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise NAS solutions using Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon).
  • Administer PowerScale clusters, including node layout, quotas, snapshots, and storage services.
  • Perform PowerScale upgrades, patching, and ongoing operational support.
  • Manage data replication, disaster recovery, and SyncIQ operations.
  • Support SMB and NFS file services across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Administer Active Directory-integrated file services, NTFS permissions, ACLs, GPOs, and group-based access.
  • Support DFS and DNS services related to enterprise file storage.
  • Perform enterprise file migrations using tools such as Robocopy.
  • Troubleshoot complex Windows/Linux permission and file access issues.
  • Support compliance, audit, and legal data access requests.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and other scripting tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, build guides, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in change management and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise NAS platforms, preferably Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and enterprise file services.
  • Strong understanding of SMB and NFS protocols.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and operational support skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle products such as WebLogic, CC&B, or C2M.
  • Experience with enterprise storage modernization and large-scale file migrations.
  • Knowledge of object storage technologies and modern file-sharing platforms.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, or legal data requests.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
