Job description

Company & Role Overview

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks an R&D Test Engineer to develop, test, and validate advanced MANET radios and wireless products.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, implement, and maintain wireless communication system testing procedures.
  • Design and maintain automated testing and logging software.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to define performance requirements and troubleshoot new designs.
  • Conduct lab and field testing using channel emulators and lab instruments.
  • Assist in qualification and demonstration of emerging technologies.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements

Occasional domestic travel, including overnight stays, to support experimentation and demonstrations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in embedded firmware development and testing, scripting, embedded Linux, C/C++, and Python; or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with wireless or electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • U.S. citizenship required for government contracts.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Programming in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with networked testing systems.
  • Testing embedded radio communication systems.
  • General familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Office and outdoor testing environments.
  • May involve lifting up to 20 lbs, bending, reaching, kneeling or squatting.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during field tests.
Compensation

$85,000 – $130,000 annually, depending on skill level and experience.
