Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our overnight emergency team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about emergency medicine, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys providing exceptional nursing care to hospitalized and emergency patients. This position is ideal for a candidate looking to continue developing advanced emergency and critical care skills while working alongside an experienced medical team.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians in providing high-quality emergency and critical care.
  • Perform treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, and nursing care in accordance with the California Veterinary Practice Act.
  • Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition.
  • Assist with emergency triage and stabilization.
  • Obtain accurate patient histories and communicate professionally with clients.
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
  • Safely restrain patients while following Fear Free and hospital safety practices when appropriate.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient treatment areas.
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Participate in our competency-based training program and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Current California RVT license preferred
  • Minimum of 3 year of veterinary technician experience required.
  • Emergency or specialty experience preferred.
  • RECOVER CPR certification is a plus.
  • Strong technical nursing skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Passion for patient advocacy and continuous learning.
Compensation

$25-40/hr

Compensation is based on technical competency assessment and placement within our clinical career ladder. Team members have the opportunity to advance through our competency-based badge program and annual evaluations.

Shift Differentials

Eligible team members also receive:

  • Overnight Differential: +$2.00/hour (10:00 PM–8:00 AM)
  • Weekend Differential: +$3.00/hour (Friday 6:00 PM–Monday 8:00 AM)

Differentials stack when applicable.

Schedule

Full-Time Overnight

  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Two paid 30-minute meal breaks
Sign-On Bonus

Eligible for RVT Sign-On Bonus $2,500
