Job description

Join Krypton Solutions as a Senior Vibration Test Engineer to establish, lead, and grow our vibration testing capability, built around our LDS V8800 electrodynamic shaker system. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity define lab standards and procedures from the ground up, mentor future team members, and serve as the go-to technical authority on shaker testing, fixture design, and vibration test methodology.
You will have benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, and Paid Time Off. Seize the chance to be part of a rapidly growing company where your contributions matter and your career can thrive.
Make a difference as a Senior Vibration Test Engineer
As a Senior Vibration Test Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and running vibration tests. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as the technical lead and subject-matter expert for all vibration testing, with direct ownership of the shaker system and lab operations.
  • Setting up, calibrating, and operating the shaker system (armature, head expander, slip table, amplifier) to test components, assemblies, and structures.
  • Programming and executing sine sweep, random vibration, sine-on-random, shock, and resonance search/dwell test profiles using LDS/Bruel & Kjaer or comparable control software.
  • Interpreting aerospace/defense specifications (MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-1540, NASA-STD-7001) and customer qualification requirements, and translating them into executable test plans.
  • Designing or directing fabrication of test fixtures, ensuring correct mass loading, mounting resonance, and force/frequency compatibility.
  • Diagnosing and resolving amplifier, armature, cooling, and control-loop faults; serve as final escalation point for test anomalies.
  • Analyzing test data (PSD plots, transmissibility, resonance frequencies) and authoring audit-ready reports for engineering, quality, and customer/regulatory submittal.
  • Leading root-cause investigations for test article failures.
  • Establishing test lab procedures, safety protocols, calibration schedules, and documentation to be in compliance with AS9100.
  • Compiling test reports as necessary per industry and customer requirements.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring future test operators/engineers as the team grows.
What we are looking for in a Senior Vibration Test Engineer
To excel as a Senior Vibration Test Engineer at Krypton Solutions, a combination of technical skills and attention to detail is essential. Ideally, candidates will have:
  • 7+ years of direct, hands-on experience operating electrodynamic shaker systems in an aerospace or defense testing environment. Direct experience with the LDS V8800 or equal/similar is a plus.
  • Direct experience testing aerospace hardware to qualification-level vibration requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently (amplifier faults, control-loop instability, armature/cooling issues, sensor/wiring problems, clipping/notching) without relying on vendor support for routine issues.
  • Solid practical command of core vibration science, including but not limited to, resonance, transmissibility, PSD/spectral analysis, mass loading, and fixture dynamics.
  • Practical fixture design/selection experience, including mass loading limits and resonance avoidance.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or training other technicians/engineers, or clear readiness to build and lead a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting results to customers, auditors, or program leadership.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on a new shaker platform, applying transferable knowledge across manufacturers/models.
