The House Attendant is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction in our hotel. This multifaceted role combines the responsibilities of a Public Area Attendant and a Houseperson, ensuring the cleanliness, order, and efficient operation of all public spaces, as well as providing essential support to our guests and housekeeping team. The House Attendant will be responsible for meticulously cleaning and preparing public areas and assisting with guest requests and linen management, ensuring a pristine and welcoming environment for both arriving and in-house guests. This position will also perform general and deep cleaning of guest rooms as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Public Area Maintenance:
  • Thoroughly clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, and back-of-house areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of associate locker rooms and cafeteria.
  • Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors.
  • Dust, polish, and wipe down all surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of public area carpets, addressing spills and stains promptly.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences immediately using HotSos.
  • Guest and Housekeeping Support:
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, such as delivering extra amenities and rollaway beds.
  • Manage the linen chute, ensuring it is clear and operational.
  • Efficiently stock and deliver linen to guest room attendants as needed.
  • Assist with the transport of dirty linen.
  • Deliver and retrieve items from guest rooms as requested (e.g. cribs, highchairs, amenities).
  • Support the housekeeping team with various tasks, including moving furniture, flipping mattresses, and assisting with deep cleaning projects.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and well-stocked housekeeping cart and linen closet.
  • General Duties:
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA standards, particularly those related to engineering and maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report replenishment needs.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Handle chemicals and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management (e.g. Room Attendant duties)

Qualifications:

Prior experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment, is a plus.
