Position Purpose
The Overnight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all overnight store operations, ensuring merchandise is stocked efficiently, store standards are maintained, and the store is fully prepared for business each day. This position provides leadership to overnight associates, monitors productivity, ensures compliance with company policies, and supports a safe, organized, and customer-ready environment.
Key Responsibilities Store Operations
  • Supervise and coordinate overnight stocking, merchandising, and recovery activities throughout the store.
  • Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional locations are fully stocked and accurately merchandised.
  • Monitor store conditions and maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate workload to ensure overnight tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and processing deliveries as required.
  • Ensure store readiness standards are met prior to opening.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and direction to overnight associates.
  • Assign work responsibilities and monitor performance and productivity.
  • Train associates on stocking procedures, safety standards, and operational expectations.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Assist with associate development and performance feedback.
  • Serve as the designated overnight leader during assigned shifts.
Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and in-stock conditions throughout the store.
  • Ensure proper product rotation utilizing First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices.
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, and stock control procedures.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to store leadership.
  • Support shrink reduction initiatives through proper product handling and inventory controls.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, operating procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain safe working conditions throughout sales floor, stockrooms, coolers, and receiving areas.
  • Ensure associates use equipment safely and follow proper lifting techniques.
  • Identify and correct safety hazards promptly.
  • Support loss prevention and asset protection programs.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed.
Customer Service
  • Provide assistance to customers shopping during overnight hours.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure the store environment supports a positive customer experience.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and department teams to maintain service standards.
Financial Performance
  • Support achievement of store sales, productivity, labor, and shrink goals.
  • Monitor labor utilization and overnight productivity.
  • Help control expenses through efficient resource management.
  • Support operational initiatives that improve store profitability and performance.
