Overview
Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is the internal staffing agency for the Johns Hopkins Health System and partner hospitals, providing temporary support to a variety of the Johns Hopkins locations. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will provide exceptional care to patients in the general surgery unit during overnight shifts, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • General Surgery Nocturnist.
  • APP would float between vascular and GI services - working on inpatient non-ICU floors.
  • Nightshift (5p-6a shifts) Monday-Friday
  • Looking for someone that can work 2-3 shifts per week.
  • No on-call or weekends.

Payrate- $80-100
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of general surgery patients,
including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic
evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide advanced clinical care, including post-operative management, wound care, and other necessary procedures.
Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient response.
Respond to emergencies and provide critical care support as needed. Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, postoperative care, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • BLS & ACLS required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general surgery
  • EPIC
