Job description

REPORTS TO: Residential Manager

SUPERVISES: Direct Care Staff, Personal Care Home Staff, Host Home

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Home Manager directs and manages the operations and activities of the home to comply with all rules, regulations, and policies that apply.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED is required and two years of group home experience is preferred. Upon hire he/she must satisfactorily complete all training required by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and contracting agencies. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid, unrestricted driver license. Results of a physical exam must indicate an individual is cleared for unrestricted work duties. Must also test negative for tuberculosis (TB).


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise in-home staff (Direct Care Staff), Personal Care Staff and Host Home Staff
  • Make sure the assigned duties of staff are completed
  • Assist in management of resident funds (Debit Card, receipts, etc)
  • Assist in staff scheduling (Working with Resident Manager to create monthly schedule)
  • Aid in the coordination of training for staff
  • Act as liaison to all agencies involved in services for residents, i.e. day programs
  • Ensure maintenance of the home is completed in accordance with the schedule
  • Conduct staff meetings
  • Participate in ISP meetings
  • Complete staff disciplinary forms when necessary
  • Along with Resident Manager, create monthly calendar for activities and duties
  • Inspect homes for cleanliness and needed repair
  • Responsible for the management of residents' medications (e.g. maintain supply, supervise passing of medications, and documentation)
  • Participate in required training
  • Maintain required records
  • Visit client's day centers once a week
  • Purge Documents and bring to Office
  • May be responsible for occasionally making doctor's appointments, speaking to the pharmacy, speaking to Day Center, grocery shopping, escorting residents to doctor's appointments
  • Be prepared to stand in for staff overnight in cases of emergencies until a replacement is made
  • Adhere to CARF and relevant agency rules and regulations
  • Follow MG policy and procedures
  • On-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Perform other duties as directed/required
