What unique challenges do overnight health informatics analysts face, and how can they prepare for them?

Overnight Health Informatics Analysts often encounter challenges such as limited access to on-site support staff and the need to troubleshoot technical issues independently during off-hours. Additionally, they may need to respond quickly to urgent data requests or resolve system alerts that impact patient care. To succeed in this environment, analysts should develop strong problem-solving skills, familiarize themselves with remote escalation procedures, and maintain clear documentation for seamless handovers with day-shift teams. Building effective communication channels with both IT and clinical staff is also key to ensuring smooth operations overnight.

What is an overnight health informatics analyst?

An Overnight Health Informatics Analyst is a professional responsible for managing, analyzing, and interpreting health data during overnight shifts, typically in hospitals or healthcare organizations. Their duties often include monitoring electronic health records (EHRs), ensuring data integrity, generating reports for clinical staff, and supporting the implementation of health information systems after regular business hours. This role is vital for continuous healthcare operations, as it ensures data accuracy, compliance, and timely access to information, even outside of standard daytime hours.

To thrive as an Overnight Health Informatics Analyst, you need a solid background in health information systems, data analysis, and healthcare regulations, often supported by a degree in health informatics or a related field. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, data analytics tools like SQL and Tableau, and certifications such as RHIA or CAHIMS are typically required. Job description

Redefine excellence in your career as a Hospitalist Physician in Manchester, Connecticut

We believe in bringing "better" to our local community right here in Manchester-better care, better collaboration, and a deep commitment to the people we serve. If you're looking for a role that supports your professional growth and your connection to a vibrant city, we'd love to talk.

We are hiring a hospitalist and a nocturnist. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • At Hartford Healthcare Manchester Memorial Hospital, we are a tightly knit, highly skilled team of 8 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers (APPs). Our collaborative efforts extend beyond medical duties to foster a supportive work environment for the benefit of our patients.
  • Our team's diversity is a source of strength. Our clinicians hail from varied geographic, educational, and training backgrounds, and we value social interaction both within and outside work.
  • Active involvement in hospital committees is common on our team, solidifying our relationships with specialists and receiving strong support from our hospital's leadership.
  • Our site coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy work-life balance for the team, and our spacious, dedicated workspace ensures a quiet and efficient environment for documentation.
  • A clinical performance nurse enhances the patient care experience.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine.
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Scheduling:

  • Day Hospitalist schedule will be 7 shifts/month in a row - 7 am to 7 pm.
  • Nocturnist schedule is full-time, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., 7 on / 7 off.
  • Our team enjoys a good retention rate and collaborates seamlessly to ensure adequate coverage for colleagues' time off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Our responsibilities encompass rounds, admissions, discharges, and daily multidisciplinary rounds. Whenever possible, we engage in geographic rounding.
  • The hospital has a closed ICU with Sound Physicians and intensivists on hand 24/7, so procedures are not required.
  • Nocturnist handles admissions from the ED and cross coverage
  • We are entertaining candidates looking for part-time and PRN shifts.
  • We use Meditech and have access to our internal informatics platform. Switching to Epic in July 2026.
  • You will also be credentialed at Rockville General (20 minutes away), with the opportunity to work some of your shifts there for a change of working environment

Living and Working in Manchester:

Manchester is more than just where we work-it's where we live and enjoy the perfect balance of suburban comfort and city convenience. With its diverse community, beautiful parks, and thriving downtown area, Manchester offers an excellent quality of life for families and individuals. Whether you're shopping, exploring local events, or enjoying the outdoors, Manchester is a place where you can truly feel at home.

Rewards and Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for bonuses based on performance and growth.
  • We emphasize growth and development as a central feature of Sound practices. Teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
