Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Professional Writing, English, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Technical Writer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Technical Communication, Professional Writing, English, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Technical Writer-related occupation.
  • Position requires 4 years of experience in the following: Writing accurate, clear, concise, and well-organized technical content including developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks. Analyzing user goals, context, learning styles, and technical background for content creation. Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand technologies, extract user-required information, and iterate on content drafts. Applying general technical concepts to analyze problems and communicate technical information. Leading content creation projects, including scoping work, guiding team members, and communicating project status.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $200,000 15% bonus target equity benefits determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
  • Write technical documentation for developers and cloud architects building private Google Cloud solutions.
  • Produce new, high-quality content designed to help customers succeed.
  • Curate and maintain the existing customer-facing content library for accuracy and relevance.
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread technical documents written by engineering and product teams.
  • Coach non-writers and subject matter experts on ways to improve their writing skills. Collaborate with a global team of engineers, product managers, and content strategists.
