Job description

Adult Residential Support Professional (Female, 3rd Shift)

Fahrman Center – Lutheran Social Services
Full-Time | Benefit Eligible | Eau Claire, WI

Lutheran Social Services is seeking a full-time Adult Residential Support Professional (ARSP) to join our Fahrman Center team! The Fahrman Center is a 42‑bed adult residential treatment facility providing inpatient addiction services for men and women, as well as restorative justice programming for individuals involved with correctional systems.

This is a 3rd shift, overnight position. Because this is a co‑ed facility, contract requirements mandate both a male and female staff member onsite at all times. We are currently seeking a male ARSP to fill the overnight role.

Schedule

Thursday-Sunday: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
(Full‑time, 40 hours/week)

Position Summary

Under supervision, the Adult Residential Support Professional provides care, monitoring, support, and services to clients receiving treatment for substance use disorders and/or restorative justice needs. This role ensures a safe, therapeutic environment and supports clients in meeting treatment goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive interaction, monitoring, and positive role modeling for residents
  • Record observations and maintain required documentation
  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • Organize and distribute resident clothing, bedding, and supplies
  • Administer or monitor medications per program policy
  • Communicate resident status to external partners while maintaining confidentiality
  • Identify and appropriately respond to emergencies or crisis situations
  • Support resident treatment plans and goal achievement
  • Work independently and problem-solve effectively
  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information
  • Assist with meal preparation and life‑skills support
  • Assist with facility grocery shopping
  • Transport residents to appointments or activities as needed
  • Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests
  • Facilitate basic educational group activities as assigned
  • Administer basic first aid as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Related experience or academic credits in social work, human services, psychology, or a similar field may be required based on contracts
  • Previous experience in residential support or similar services preferred
  • Must demonstrate communication skills, professionalism, boundaries, patience, self‑control, and teamwork
Certificates, Licenses & Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must meet LSS driving and auto insurance requirements
  • DHS 83 training (Fire Safety, First Aid, Standard Precautions, Medication Administration) preferred but required after hire
Technology Skills
  • Basic computer proficiency for timecards, email, HRIS, electronic health records (EHR), and online training
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequent standing, bending/stooping, crouching, kneeling, stair use, and walking
  • Work primarily in a community residential setting with some outdoor exposure
  • May assist with snow removal or seasonal outdoor tasks
  • Moderate noise environment

  • No overnight travel required
