Job description

RMC is hiring an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our Navy customer in Indian Head, MD (Stump Neck). The selected applicant will support a high-impact initiative enhancing the AEODPS database, a critical resource relied upon by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians in the field. This effort focuses on strengthening information access and intelligence sharing to ensure technicians are equipped with the most relevant and actionable data.

The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Review, complete, and publish incomplete "Unapproved R0 Subjects" within the AEODPS database. These entries contain valuable insights for both operational and intelligence communities and will expand the knowledge base available to technicians.
  • Develop and revise EOD information sets currently described as 60-Series Subjects, Publications, and Procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and operational relevance of AEODPS entries and reports.
  • Devise detailed step-by-step procedures for use by EOD technicians to render safe and dispose of specific munitions items or weapons systems.
  • Develop specific tests and write test plans; prepare draft manuals; and coordinate and resolve publication changes resulting from validation.
  • Coordinate and communicate frequently with Technical Writers and other Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Experts.
  • Conduct independent research using various databases, websites, and repositories. 

Requirements

  • Six (6)+ years of experience as an EOD Technician; Master EOD Badge preferred, but not required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.  
  • Graduate of the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal at Eglin AFB.
  • An active DoD SECRET clearance is required to start. Applicants selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $100,000 to $115,000 (annually).
