Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant on the Healthcare Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading Epic Patient Access implementation activities across design, build, testing, and activation phases. You will:

  • Lead functional design and configuration for Epic Patient Access modules, serving as the escalation point and design authority across Epic Cadence (Scheduling), Epic ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer), and Epic Prelude (Registration).
  • Align Patient Access workflows to downstream revenue cycle processes, including eligibility and benefits, authorizations, charge capture, claim edits, and billing handoffs to Epic Resolute Hospital/Professional Billing.
  • Coordinate and execute integrated testing, cutover, and go-live readiness across the revenue cycle, validating clean claim rate, registration accuracy, authorization completion, and reduction in avoidable write-offs.
  • Partner with Patient Access, revenue cycle operations, Health Information Management (HIM)/coding, and Patient Financial Services (PFS) leadership to translate requirements into Epic design, manage decision logs and change control, and document build specifications and test scripts.
  • Lead workstreams and mentor client and project team members; manage status, risks, and issues; and support stabilization and optimization to improve cash acceleration and days in accounts receivable (AR).

The team

Our Industry Solutions offering provides verticalized solutions that transform how clients sell products, deliver services, generate growth, and execute mission-critical operations. We deliver integrated business expertise with scalable, repeatable technology solutions specifically engineered for each sector.

Deloitte's Healthcare Consulting practice is one of the largest in the world. Our practice delivers distinctive services to the country's largest national and regional health plans; 10 of the 10 largest healthcare systems; and 8 of the 10 largest for-profit healthcare systems in the US. Our healthcare practice seeks to transform the delivery of care, modernize the industry, and enhance our clients' business and operational models.

Many providers have felt the heavy impact of various government regulations and have experienced a period of decreasing margins and increasing emphasis on cost controls. Our healthcare professionals enable healthcare providers-from physicians to integrated delivery systems-to improve the cost-effectiveness and quality of their care delivery capabilities. Deloitte Consulting can help clients address these and other challenges in today's complex healthcare environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in provider revenue cycle operations in a health care provider, consulting, or technology vendor environment.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing Epic Patient Access modules, including Epic Cadence (Scheduling), Epic ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer), and Epic Prelude (Registration), with integration to Epic Resolute Billing.
  • 3+ years of experience translating business and operational requirements into Epic system design, configuration, testing, and activation deliverables across the revenue cycle.
  • 3+ years of experience leading workstreams and small teams on multi-disciplinary revenue cycle projects.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of consulting experience delivering Epic-enabled revenue cycle transformations spanning Patient Access, Health Information Management (HIM)/coding, and Patient Financial Services (PFS).
  • 2+ years of experience improving revenue cycle KPIs, such as registration accuracy, authorization turnaround time, point-of-service collections, clean claim rate, first pass yield, and days in AR.
  • Experience with Epic HB/Professional Resolute Billing and claim edit workqueues; familiarity with charge integrity and denial prevention.
  • Experience with data extraction and analysis using Structured Query Language (SQL) or dashboarding tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience with hospital and physician patient accounting or billing systems such as Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH, or Soarian.
  • Master's degree in business or a health care field (e.g., MBA, MHA).

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
