Job description

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Geologist, Engineer, or Environmental Scientist in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office to support a wide range of multidisciplinary projects in New Mexico and elsewhere while growing your career. The role will include supporting field efforts and office tasks on a variety of environmental investigation, characterization, remediation and monitoring projects for commercial, state and federal clients.

Responsibilities

Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas and other environmental media.
Provide oversight of subcontractors including drillers
Support remediation projects including contaminated soil and hazardous waste sites.
Operate/maintain field equipment.
Follow sampling protocols including chain-of-custody procedures.
Document field activities through logs, photos, and all types of field data.
Assist in summarizing field activities, preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation.
Adhere to and promote safety protocols.

Note:  This position will require overnight travel (approximately 40%) and additional same day to project sites.

Required Qualifications

Experience executing environmental fieldwork.
BA/BS degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related science.
2-5 years of experience
Strong data collection and documentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and other standard business computer programs.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel for extended rotations.
Ability to pass background checks to support projects on military installations.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Note:  This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Desired Qualifications

GIT or EIT
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and 8-hour HAZWOPER supervisor
First Aid/CPR certifications
Mechanical aptitude
