Job description

Hitec Power Protection Inc. is presently accepting applications for experienced Industrial Power Generation Service Technicians for the US West Coast region, in multiple locations: San Jose, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Chandler, AZ,. Hitec Power maintains Rotary Uninterruptible Power Systems (Backup Power), provides great customer service, and operates an emergency response service 24 hours a day.

Main activities:

  • The ability to perform corrective and quarterly preventative maintenance programs on all machines (APM, SPM, QPM) for both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls *. (Highly Desired)
  • Being able to use monitoring software, SCADA/PLC software for trouble shooting with helpdesk assistance.
  • Must be available for on-call rotation.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sister companies, distributors, and agents.
  • Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Support and Manage subcontractors during onsite work.
  • Working independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Working in a safe manner and following proper procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in power generation industry or transferable field.
  • Industrial electrical background and/or knowledge (Highly Desired)
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (Highly Desired)
  • Valid driver's license required, with good driving record.
  • Passport or ability to acquire one.
  • Use of electrical testing equipment (Multimeters, Insulation testers, etc.) (Highly Desired)
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and technical skills
  • Intermediate or higher-level computer skills.
  • Overnight and Extended Travel Required (up to 2 weeks), Short notice.
  • Available for on-call rotation schedule.
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills.
  • Ability to lift 70lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Team oriented.
