Job description

Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanics to join our team in Tulsa, OK. These candidates must have machine repair experience.

Expectations of the position:
As a Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic, you will ensure the reliability and functionality of industrial machinery, engines, and mechanical systems. This role includes performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnosing faults using computerized diagnostic tools

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform major and minor repairs on heavy diesel equipment and trucks
  • Overhaul and rebuild engines and transmissions
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine necessary repairs
  • Collaborate with operators to understand machinery issues
  • Use hydraulic jacks or hoists as needed for repairs
  • Maintain accurate work logs and report issues
  • Keep tools and equipment in proper condition
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace
 Qualifications and Skills
    • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
    • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of heavy equipment
    • Ability to follow all safety precautions for protection against accidents and hazardous materials
    • Physical stamina and flexibility for long shifts, including overnight work
    • Diploma from a Trade School or relevant certification
    • Experience performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
    • Commitment to ensuring equipment meets safety and environmental standards
    • Ability to provide guidance to equipment operators on proper use and preventive maintenance
Working Conditions 
  • Full-time, hourly position.

  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas.

  • This position may require working beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays. Shifts may vary depending on production needs (e.g., rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts).

  • Must be able to tolerate a noisy, physically demanding environment with varying temperatures typical of a manufacturing plant.

  • Flexibility to work long shifts and overnight if required for Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic role
