At Asplundh Engineering Services, you’ll expand your technical capabilities while working on impactful electrical distribution projects. Enjoy increasing autonomy, meaningful project work, and opportunities for long‑term advancement.

As an Engineer II, you will independently support distribution design projects from field data gathering through development of construction‑ready job plans. You will apply your engineering experience to deliver safe, accurate, cost‑effective designs and serve as a key contributor to customer‑driven initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • ABET‑accredited degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
  • Minimum 3+ years of applicable engineering experience
  • Ability to interpret and apply utility standards in design work
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD or MicroStation) preferred but not required
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Independently gather and interpret field and technical data
  • Produce turnkey electrical distribution designs aligned with customer standards
  • Coordinate permitting requirements with local agencies
  • Communicate with construction teams to support installation and resolve design questions
  • Conduct field verification as needed
  • Collaborate with peers on customer‑driven projects
  • Manage schedules to avoid construction delays
  • Assist in mentoring early‑career team members
  • Other duties as assigned

FIELD WORK DISCLAIMER

Applicants must be comfortable performing field work as needed. Safety protocols—including PPE, hard hats, eye/ear protection, and proper footwear—are strictly enforced. Fieldwork may require walking, standing, and carrying equipment for extended periods.

CAREER GROWTH

Engineers at Level II often progress to Engineer III, Senior Engineer, Project Engineering, or Technical Lead roles.
