Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect reports necessary for the night's workload (Special instructions, Special Orders Item).
  • Examine all double-check customers
  • Inspect loads that are designated on the special instructions report. (If waiting on pallets, spot check the pallets that are already located on the loading dock)
  • Verify that the special-order items are selected and placed on the correct pallet.
  • Validate that the weights are correct on the catch weight variation report.
  • Check any reshipped orders if necessary.
  • Review any new accounts provided by supervisors.
  • Gather all paperwork from the course on the night and place it in the Manager's mailbox.
  • Fill out the checker audit spreadsheet to track work for the night.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Work in very extreme temperatures - dry ambient temp, hot during the summer, cold warehouse, 36 degrees and below all year round, (cooler and/or freezer).
  • Employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat throughout an eight-hour shift. (plus, occasional overtime)
  • Occasionally tear down a pallet which includes lifting cases and objects from and to heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead ranging in weight from 10 to 75 pounds.
  • Uses hand to finger dexterity to peel and stick labels, handle or feel objects and or equipment controls, or reach with hands and arm.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks and standing, bending, kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in both cold storage and warm environments (e.g., freezers, coolers, dry areas).
  • Capable of using cleaning chemicals safely with appropriate PPE.

  • Work in a variety of environments, including dry storage, cold storage, freezers, and exterior grounds.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols for working around heavy equipment and machinery.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctual and dependable with flexibility in work hours as required.
