Job description

Position Title: Teaching Professional

Department: Racquets
Location:ย  Hillwood Country Club, Nashville, TN
Reports To:ย  Director of Racquets

Employment States: Part-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Effective Date: May 19, 2025ย ย ย 

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for delivering high-quality tennis and/or pickleball instruction to members of all ages and skill levels, while also contributing to the overall success of the racquets program.ย  This role requires a commitment of 5-15 hours of clinics per week, which grants access to unlimited private lessons/clinics and additional opportunities.

Responsibilities
Instruction & Coaching

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide private and group lessons to juniors and adults at all levels, focusing on skill development,
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strategy, and enjoyment of the game

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead and assist with club clinics, camps, and social events to enhance the member experience

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Stay updated on modern teaching techniques and best practices to ensure high-quality instruction

Member Engagement & Customer Service

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Foster a welcoming and positive learning environment for all members

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicate effectively with members regarding lesson plans, progress, and program opportunities

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Encourage participation in club leagues, tournaments, and social play

Operational & Professional Conduct

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Arrive on time and clock in no more than 15 minutes before scheduled lessons and clock out no later than
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  15 minutes after completing lessons

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and enthusiasm on and off the court
โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in maintaining courts, equipment, and club facilities as needed
โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Comply with club policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Employees must receive prior approval before working any overtime. Overtime requests must beย 
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  submitted and approved before the start of the workweek.ย  Unauthorized overtime will not be permitted

Qualifications & Skills

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  USPTA or PTR certification (or working toward certification) preferred

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Competitive playing experience at the collegiate or professional level is a plus

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage members of all ages

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with other professionals and club staff

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to adapt to member needs and provide personalized instruction

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  $20-$30 an hour for all assistant clinic hours

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lesson % will be paid bi-weekly

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Clinic hours/percentages will be paid on a bi-weekly basis
