Digital Press Operator – Labels

Summary: A Digital Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining digital label presses to produce high‐quality printed materials that meet customer specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, color‐matching skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‐paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Press Setup & Operation — Prepare digital label presses (e.g., EPSON, Domino) by loading substrates, inks/toners, and job files; run production according to job tickets.
  • Quality Control — Inspect printed labels for color accuracy, registration, variable data integrity, and finishing compatibility.
  • Color Management — Calibrate press, manage ICC profiles, and adjust color to maintain brand consistency.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting — Perform routine cleaning, replace consumables, and resolve print defects or machine errors.
  • Workflow & File Handling — Review digital files, RIP jobs, and ensure correct variable data setup.
  • Production Efficiency — Monitor run speeds, minimize waste, and meet daily production targets.
  • Documentation — Complete production logs, maintenance records, and quality reports.
  • Safety & Compliance — Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
