Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking an overnight Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Specimen Processing Lab team!

Role Overview:

  • Review requisitions and order entry orders to verify the accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into the computer

  • Prepare specimens for testing or send out to another laboratory for testing using the laboratory computer system

  • Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized file system, filing addition/correction sheets, requisitions, and reference laboratories' results according to laboratory guidelines

  • Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies

  • Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED + 1-2 years of confirmed experience

  • Strong digital literacy in Word and Excel

Core Skills:

  • Excellent information leadership skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to laboratory and hospital staff

  • An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences

  • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Per Diem, Overnight Shift, 12 am - 8 am (15 hours per week), weekdays and weekends; 100% onsite

  • Reporting to: Assistant Manager, Laboratory Medicine
