Head of Skincare & Capital Equipment Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy
Primary Irvine, California
The Head of Skincare Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy is responsible for all commercial aspects of the new product pipeline and the overall franchise strategy for the global skincare, electromechanical device and the body contouring businesses within Allergan Aesthetics.
This individual will lead a team to develop and deliver against a pipeline strategy that contributes business growth, drives category leadership, and optimizes the portfolio value. This includes building an understanding of the global market landscape, trends, customer and consumer needs, and creating a plan to address gaps through internal and external innovation. These components will be drawn together to create a robust pipeline strategy including a balance of Hero products and Portfolio SKUs. In addition, this individual will work together with colleagues to develop expansion plans, which build upon internal and external considerations, to deliver a prioritized and phased approach to entering new markets, along with the specific product needs.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acts as the single, accountable commercial owner of the skincare and electromechanical device pipeline and global franchise strategy
  • Leverages combination of market research, competitive intelligence, and KOL insights to inform and evolve the global skincare and body contouring strategies
  • Identifies opportunities for growth via new product introduction and portfolio optimization - creating a unified internal and external innovation strategy that delivers a consistent cadence of launches for our skincare business and body contouring businesses
  • Develops a robust expansion strategy, which prioritizes new market opportunities based on internal synergies, as well as external market and regulatory considerations
  • Supports their team to provide all necessary commercial inputs and considerations for new product introductions, ranging for target product profile attributes to packaging, commercial claims and tactics
  • Develops close working relationship with R&D, regulatory/legal, medical affairs, market research, operations, and key opinion leaders; bringing together the best of the business to drive results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Supports handover to downstream marketing, through development of "early brand plans" and early commercialization strategies, which include positioning, key claim, and branding
  • Act as the skincare and body contouring commercial pipeline lead in strategic business planning workstreams, governance boards, and business unit meetings, motivating colleagues across functions and levels (including senior leadership) around a shared strategy and vision
  • Leads the Skincare, Electromechanical Device and Body Contouring Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy Team and provides growth and development opportunities to employees

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • MBA or other advanced degree) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience including in the beauty industry or skincare space in a pipeline or marketing function
  • Experience in beauty and skincare consumer skincare field required
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience

  • Ability to prioritize commercial opportunities across the portfolio and develop integrated, long-term strategies for capturing the maximum commercial value
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to work successfully in a matrixed organization
  • Strong people leadership skills, including management of colleagues with diverse experience / functional expertise
  • Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; proven ability to interact directly with and influence Senior Management and global thought leaders in aesthetics
  • Solid understanding and experience of different stages of the product life cycle, including product launch
  • Understanding of different global skincare markets, including consumer needs and trends, competitor dynamics, and go-to-market nuances

Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays
