Job description

Are you an experienced laborer looking for a clear path to a skilled career? Or perhaps you have no experience but possess an unstoppable work ethic? Montana Basement Solutions / Waterproof Montana is hiring a Laborer / Emerging Service Technician.

This unique role bridges the gap between high-energy groundwork and advanced technical execution. We are looking for someone who has mastered basic physical labor and is ready to graduate into a highly paid, specialized trade. We pay for 100% of your training. If you bring the grit and hustle, we will teach you the technical skills required to succeed.

You will start by supporting site operations while actively training under an experienced foreman to master waterproofing, foundation repair, mold remediation, and flood mitigation. Overachievers in this role will quickly transition into a fully fledged Service Technician position with increased field responsibility and a direct increase in compensation.

The Paid Career Pathway (We Pay for Your Growth)

  • Phase 1 Labor Foundation: Learn the ropes. Master job-site efficiency, high-velocity material handling, precise trench digging, and rapid 15-minute morning truck loadouts.
  • Phase 2 Technical Skill Building: Step up your capabilities. Learn to execute straight-line drywall flood cuts, install drainage membranes, set up crawlspace vapor barriers, and perform mold remediation safely.
  • Phase 3 Service Technician Graduation: Graduate into a true technician role. Earn your company-sponsored OSHA 10 Construction Card, troubleshoot complex field installations, and help guide junior crew members on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Pace Execution: Perform essential site tasks, including digging, moving materials, and cleaning job sites, while maintaining high productivity throughout your shift. You do not simply pace your work; you work efficiently and help the crew meet production goals.
  • Technical Advancement: Follow directions from the foreman while learning to install specialized drainage pipes, waterproofing membranes, sump pumps, and foundation leveling systems.
  • Logistics & Shop Support: Support rapid morning departures of 15 minutes or less and assist with efficient end-of-day shop returns, including unloading trailers, restocking inventory, and preparing tools for the next day.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, hazard-free job site and wear all required company-provided safety equipment. Follow OSHA standards and company safety procedures at all times.
  • Production Transparency: Use QuickBooks Time accurately to track daily hours and job assignments, supporting our company goal of maintaining 8595% job-site utilization.

Travel & Out-of-Area Projects

While most of our daily work is local, we also complete regional projects that require travel.

  • The Schedule: Candidates must be flexible and willing to travel for out-of-area projects. On a few occasions each year, regional projects may extend for several weeks at a time.
  • The Perks: We take care of our crew while they are on the road. The company covers paid travel time, overnight lodging, and provides a daily per diem for meals and personal expenses.

What We Are Looking For

  • The Hustle: A sense of urgency, grit, and a strong work ethic, along with a positive attitude and a desire to contribute to a tight-knit crew.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to lift heavy materials, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and work comfortably in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics.
  • Growth Mindset: A strong desire to ask questions, learn specialized technical skills, and advance your career.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and a positive team member who is prepared to complete company-sponsored certifications.

Why Join Us?

At Montana Basement Solutions / Waterproof Montana, we do not hire for dead-end jobs; we provide a clear career pathway. We actively invest in your professional development through paid training, certifications, and hands-on technical experience. Meeting and exceeding your training milestones provides a direct path to promotions, leadership opportunities, increased responsibility, and higher pay.
