Job description

Position Type: Direct Hire

Workplace Type: On-Site


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and cost accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Develop and maintain standard costs for manufactured products.
  • Analyze monthly manufacturing costs, variances, overhead absorption, and purchase price variances (PPV) to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, including coding, review, and electronic record maintenance while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Process customer invoices, apply cash receipts, and support accounts receivable activities to help achieve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, including accruals, prepaids, and bank accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and financial reporting.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
  • Perform financial analyses and provide accurate reporting to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel - pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel (less than 10%), including overnight travel for training or supplier visits, may be required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a low-volume, highly engineered manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools.
  • Exposure to international business or multinational operations.
  • Continuous improvement or process optimization experience.
