Job Overview

Level Crane Systems is seeking a safety-focused **industrial electrician with field service experience** to join our Field Operations team as an Overhead Crane Service Technician. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is earlier in their career and ready to expand their electrical and mechanical skills within the overhead crane industry.


Based out of our Orange County headquarters, this full-time role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead crane systems at customer locations. Previous crane experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train a motivated technician who has a strong industrial electrical background, some mechanical experience, and a desire to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field service work on overhead crane systems, including inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical circuits, motors, control panels, contactors, relays, variable-frequency drives, and radio-control systems
  • Diagnose basic mechanical issues involving brakes, bearings, gearboxes, wheels, cables, and other crane components
  • Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns while working to minimize customer downtime
  • Assist experienced technicians with crane installations, modernizations, and equipment commissioning
  • Conduct safety checks and maintain compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety procedures
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Complete service tickets, inspection reports, time records, and expense documentation accurately

  • Identify potential opportunities for replacement parts, equipment upgrades, and preventative maintenance services
  • Participate in technical training, safety meetings, and process-improvement discussions
  • Represent Level Crane Systems professionally at customer locations


Qualifications

  • Required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Industrial electrical experience, preferably in a field service, manufacturing, maintenance, or equipment-repair environment
  • Approximately 2โ€“5 years of electrical, industrial maintenance, or related field experience
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, controls, and industrial equipment
  • Some hands-on mechanical repair or maintenance experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record
  • Commitment to following OSHA and company safety requirements
  • Strong time-management, documentation, and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently after training and manage multiple service assignments
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout Southern California
  • Interest in learning overhead crane systems and developing specialized field-service skills
  • Previous overhead crane, hoist, material-handling, or lifting-equipment experience


  • Preferred:
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial electricity, electrical systems, electromechanical technology, or industrial maintenance
  • Experience working with motor controls, variable-frequency drives, programmable controls, or industrial control panels
  • Cal/OSHA certification
  • Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, or forklifts


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from aerial lifts or elevated platforms
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions

Schedule
