JOB DESCRIPTION

Win-Tech, Inc., an aerospace and defense precision manufacturing company, is seeking an organized, proactive Purchasing Agent focused on Outside Processing.

This position plays an important role in keeping production moving by coordinating with outside processors and suppliers, obtaining quotes and lead times, placing purchase orders, tracking open orders, and following up to ensure parts are returned on time and in accordance with customer and quality requirements.

The right person for this position is highly organized, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, persistent about follow-up, and able to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

 

·        Obtain and evaluate quotes, pricing, capabilities, and lead times from suppliers and outside processors.

·        Issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and production requirements.

·        Coordinate outside processing requirements such as plating, coating, heat treatment, special processes, and other subcontracted manufacturing services.

·        Actively track open purchase orders and outside processing jobs to ensure required delivery dates are met.

·        Follow up with suppliers and processors regarding status, delays, quality issues, certifications, and other requirements.

·        Work closely with Production, Quality, Shipping/Receiving, and other members of the Purchasing team to keep jobs moving through the manufacturing process.

·        Ensure purchases are made through appropriate approved suppliers and processors.

·        Review applicable drawings, bills of material, work orders, purchase requirements, and customer instructions.

·        Support compliance with Win-Tech's AS9100 quality management system and applicable customer and government requirements.

·        Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.

·        Identify potential schedule or supplier problems early and communicate them to the appropriate team members.

·        Assist with supplier performance, pricing, lead-time, and delivery information as needed.

·        Perform other purchasing and operational duties as assigned.


***Manufacturing, aerospace, machining, purchasing, supply chain, or job-shop experience is strongly preferred.

Experience working with outside processing or special-process suppliers is a significant plus.***


REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple open orders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously and flexibly.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with suppliers and resolving problems.

  • Ability to read and understand work orders, bills of material, and basic engineering drawings.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and customer-specific requirements.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
