Production Support Associate - Weekend shift (Fri - Sun, 6am - 6pm)Overview

US Conec is seeking a detail-oriented Production Support Associate to join our team in Hickory, NC. In this role, you'll support manufacturing and operations by preparing, assembling, polishing, inspecting, and measuring molded ferrules to ensure they meet performance and quality standards. You'll work hands-on with fiber optic components and precision tools, helping to identify defects, analyze data, and collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare fiber optic connectors, ferrules, and assemblies for inspection and testing.
  • Perform ferrule length and end-face geometry measurements on connectors.
  • Conduct initial optical performance testing and communicate findings with the Production Support Technician.
  • Accurately record and document test results using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Read and follow technical drawings, layouts, and manuals to ensure accurate work and assembly.
  • Operate cable cutting machines to cut fiber optic ribbons and cables to specified lengths.
  • Perform precise measurements using micrometers, interferometers, and inspection scopes.
  • Maintain laboratory tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Must Haves
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Experience in measurement, quality control, or manufacturing environments.
  • Background in fiber optics or electronics manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and math skills to interpret instructions and verify part counts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision work.
