Job description

The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure. The PACU RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during the post-operative phases of the perioperative stay. The PACU RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.


MINIMUM EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1 year previous PACU experience.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse. Certified though the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.  PALS or ENPC preferred.
