POSITION OVERVIEW

The store clerk perform a variety of duties, all aimed at ensuring that the store is well-run and profitable, and that customers are happy and provide positive word-of-mouth recommendations. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

  • Provide an exciting, positive, and fun environment for our diverse team.
  •  Greet guests & ascertain their interest, so you may make sales recommendations.
  • Demonstrate ownership in cleaning, re-stocking, & any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Present merchandise to increase sales with added on items.
  • Keep current on promotions & sales in store: and events at the speedway.
  • Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts. 
  • Assist in inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist the resort shop set-up team with the merchandising of event gift shops including merchandise placement, inventory control, cleaning of shops & fixtures.
  • Merchandising skills a plus 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school degree
  • Understanding of the retail sales process
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
  • Be willing to work extended hours on event days.
  • Flexibility in Duties & responsibilities as needed in other areas. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

This position is a physically active position. Employees are regularly required to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
